Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a great way of treating everyday aches and pains, designed to target deeper layers of muscle via a relaxing and pain-free process.

Pressure is increased slowly allowing the tissues to adapt, relax and release. Techniques aim to gently mobilise “stuck” tissues, increase localised circulation and diffuse trigger points located in the tissues.

Available as 45, 60 or 90 minute sessions

Ideal for treating: Muscularly induced sciatica, stiff neck and shoulders, headaches, lower back ache, everyday muscular aches and pains and more.

    Remedial & Sports Massage

Remedial and sports massage applies an advanced set of knowledge and techniques to assess and treat specific issues.

A thorough consultation is followed by a postural assessment including postural observations, passive and active muscle testing and joint mobility exercises.

Treatment aims to identify faulty bio-mechanics and postural imbalances. Once a treatment plan is then created, we'll look at addressing the relevant soft tissues to restore their normal function, strength and flexibility. At the end of your treatment session, you'll be given advice, exercises and recommendations to aid you in your recovery.

Techniques used include: myofascial release, neuromuscular technique, muscle energy technique, positional release, trigger point therapy, use of tools, kinesio taping and joint manipulation or mobilisation.

Available as 45, 60 or 90 minute sessions

Ideal for treating: Sports or activity related issues such as: runners knee, plantar fasciitis, shoulder impingement, tennis and golfers elbow. Also excellent for addressing postural imbalances and rehabilitating injury such as: muscle strains and ligament sprains.

    Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a gentle and therapeutic massage treatment, that helps to stimulate the lymphatic system to reduce toxins and eliminate waste from the body. This is a slow and considered method which utilises very light pressure along with long, gentle, sweeping strokes and passive, rhythmical joint mobilisations.

The lymphatic system is an integral part of your body's immune system that helps to fight infection and remove waste from the bodies cells and tissues.  Movement from our muscles pushes the lymphatic fluid around the body, much like the heart does for blood. So this therapy can be particularly useful for stagnant or sluggish lymph, where  mobility in a person is restricted. It can also be an effective therapy post-surgery, due to it's ability to reduce oedema and help eliminate toxins.

Available as 45, 60 or 90 minute sessions

Ideal for treating: swelling following injury, water retention, detoxifying the body, optimising healing post surgery.

    Kinesio Taping

An application of kinesio tape can help to alleviate pain and facilitate lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin.

This lifting affect increases interstitial space promoting better exchange of blood, nutrients and oxygen to the area, which can decrease inflammation, promote a more rapid recovery and even diffuse bruising.

It can also be used to support or assist in correcting postural issues, including supporting the shoulder girdle, forward head posture and over pronation of the feet.

Can be added into any treatment - allow 10 mins approx.
